What were your biggest health concerns?

Total debilitating fatigue, uncontrollable cravings and weight gain.

When did you realize you needed to do something different with your health?

Modern medicine was unable to give me any un-medicated answers to my health complaints and concerns.  As I began discovering on my own the effects certain foods had on the way that I felt (like caffeine and chocolate), I knew there had to be something out there to help me improve my health, but didn’t know exactly what it was.

What is your story?

I met Rachelle at Passionate For Truth when I moved to Costa Rica. She happens to be one of my neighbors. I had an instant connection with her as we were both dealing with health issues that modern medicine could not fix. I had already been interested in going a more natural route before I moved, but was still struggling. Rachelle sat with me, talked with me, and gave me some much needed advice. She helped me find a way of eating that worked. She has given me many recipes that have eliminated inflammatory and fake foods. I have found that much healing has taken place. I have been living with Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome most of my life. I had to give up cross country running my senior year of high school because of the fatigue. I lived most my life not even knowing I had a problem. Things got so bad by the time I was in my early 40’s; I was exhausted just to walk to the mailbox. I could look at food and gain weight. It was terrible. My cravings were off the charts. It has been a year since I have been Rachelle’s neighbor and I am happy to report that I lost 60 lbs that first year. I still deal with fatigue, but not even on the same level. I am now able to walk 2-3 miles in a day (not everyday) which is a huge change from struggling to get to the mailbox. I didn’t get in this condition overnight and the healing process won’t happen overnight either. I still have a ways to go, but at least I am losing a pound a week instead of gaining a pound or more a week. I have hope, again. If you are struggling with some health issue that modern doctors are not able to help you with, I would encourage you to talk with Rachelle. ***Update 1 year later***
“I am praising God right now for my health. I am on my third week of exercise with very tolerable fatigue and very little brain fog. I am not a hundred percent yet, but I have not been able to exercise regularly for years, even since before (my 13 year old son) was born! This is truly a gift from God. I have been praying for this for years. Now, I have to be careful not to overdo or abuse this ability…. my body doesn’t tolerate supplements unless it is a real food source of nourishment.”

What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during health recovery journey?

Realizing the negative effect the wrong foods had on me and being consistent and firm in my changes.  Doing it alone in your house while the rest of the family is still eating your old way makes things challenging as well.
